Dollar Up by 51 Paisa Against PKR, Closing at Rs 230.15

ISLAMABAD: The exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee depreciated further by 51 paisa against the American dollar in the interbank trading on Monday and closed at Rs 230.15 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 229.66.

As per reports by the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded at Rs 237.85 and Rs 240.1 respectively. However, some reports say the rate of dollars at the open market was witnessed at about Rs 250.

Meanwhile, the price of the euro appreciated by Rs 2.32 and closed at Rs 251.18 as compared to Rs 248.86, on the previous day as reported by the SBP.

However, the Japanese yen decreased by two paisa to close at Rs 1.76, whereas the British pound recorded an increase of Rs 1.77 and was traded at Rs 285.65 as against Rs 283.88 on the previous day’s trading.

The exchange rates for the Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal appreciated by 14 paisa each to close at Rs 62.66 and Rs 61.28 respectively.
