DIR UPPER: Dir Premier League (DPL), organized by the District Sports Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has entered into its exciting phase where the final of the basketball tournament was held between Lahore and Islamabad on Wednesday evening at Dir Sports Complex Upper Dir.
In the final, Lahore defeated Islamabad while having 42 score against 29 score by Islamabad. Meanwhile, the final match of the football tournament was also played on Wednesday evening between Lawari Worriers and Kumrat Titans under the floodlights where Lawari was leading with 2 goals against one by Kumrat Titans when the heavy rain interrupted the match.
Earlier the other day, Volleyball was won by Hanif Club Azakhail Nowshera against the Farid Club Warhi Dir Upper.
Matches of cricket in the event were still in the group stage. The purpose of the event is to promote sports peace and let the world know about the beautiful tourist spots of northern Pakistan, particularly Dir Upper. A video clip of the basketball final can be watched here.
