Drug Authority, FIA Conduct Crackdown Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR: Five medical stores were sealed for selling fake medicines during a raid by the FIA with the collaboration of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, officials said on Wednesday.

According to the spokesperson of FIA, the operations were carried out by the FIA Composite Circle Mardan. It added that actions were taken against five medical stores as the stores were allegedly in the illegal practices.  The spokesperson added that the crackdown was conducted with the collaboration of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) officials in various areas including Malakand Road Mardan, Opposite THQ Takht Bhai, and Main Bazar Shergarh Mardan.

Substantial quantities of suspected counterfeit drugs were seized during the raids, including fake drops. The identified medical outlets were immediately sealed by FIA personnel on-site.

The seized drugs were promptly sealed and handed over to the drug inspector for laboratory analysis, the FIA spokesperson stated. Additionally, an investigation has been initiated against the accused. —APP
