ISLAMABAD: Nearly a month following the general elections on February 8, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) finally uploaded Form 45 and other forms containing poll result data on its website.

The uploaded documents include Form 45, detailing the ‘Result of the Count’, showing the number of valid votes for each candidate and the excluded ballot papers. Form 46, accounting for the ballot papers, along with Form 47, the Provisional Consolidated Statement of Results, have also been made available.

Additionally, Form 48, the Consolidated Statement of Results of the Count, and Form 49, the Final Consolidated Result form, are accessible on the website.

In the aftermath of the 2024 general elections, PTI-backed independent candidates emerged as frontrunners, securing a significant lead in the National and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies. PTI-backed independents clinched 92 seats, with PML-N following closely with 79 seats, and PPP securing 54 seats.

Other notable wins include MQM-P with 17 seats, JUI-F with four, and PML-Q with three. IPP and BNP secured two seats each.

Initially, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto expressed interest in the prime ministerial position but later withdrew from the race, advocating for his father, PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, for the presidency.

Meanwhile, although Nawaz Sharif was initially nominated as the PML-N candidate for prime minister, the party later shifted its stance and endorsed its president and Nawaz’s younger brother, Shehbaz Sharif, to lead a new alliance.
