ISLAMABAD: Educational institutions throughout Pakistan resumed classes on Monday following a week-long closure prompted by the general elections.

The hiatus, lasting from February 6 to 9, affected both private and public schools, colleges, and universities nationwide.

Notably, February 5 was observed as a public holiday for Kashmir Day, and with February 3 and 4 being Saturday and Sunday respectively, and February 10 and 11 falling on the weekend, the closure extended to nine days in total. Initially, schools in Punjab had adopted a delayed schedule, commencing at 9:30 am due to prevailing fog and smog conditions until February 3.

However, upon reopening on Monday, they reverted to their regular timing of 8:30 am.
