WASHINGTON: Since Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, the tech mogul has taken a noticeable turn to the right politically, diverging from the perceived liberal leanings of Silicon Valley.
Musk’s platform, now named X, has become a conduit for spreading right-wing narratives and conspiracy theories, aligning closely with themes championed by conservative media outlets and far-right movements.
Amid speculation about Musk’s potential support for former President Donald Trump’s White House bid, reports of a meeting between the two have sparked rumors of significant financial backing from Musk, which could substantially impact the 2024 election landscape.
Musk, however, has publicly denied intentions of financially supporting any presidential candidate, though concerns linger among Biden supporters regarding potential indirect contributions or funding of political committees that align with Republican interests.
Beyond Musk, other tech titans like Marc Andreessen are also vocalizing conservative viewpoints, challenging traditional left-leaning ideologies prevalent in Silicon Valley.
