KYIV: Emergency power disruptions were initiated in Ukraine’s Odesa port on Monday after a Russian air attack damaged one of the high-voltage facilities there, Ukraine’s top energy provider DTEK said on Monday.

According to Odesa’s administration on Telegram, the city and its surrounding region came under attack from multiple waves of drones launched by Russia. Four of these aerial devices were intercepted over Odesa and the neighbouring Mykolaiv regions.

The administration further reported that debris from a downed drone triggered a fire at the power facility, which was swiftly extinguished.

By Monday morning, DTEK confirmed that power had been restored to two districts within the city.
