ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned the “heinous terrorist attack” that occurred in a Moscow concert hall, resulting in the tragic loss of 115 lives. Erdogan’s condemnation comes amidst Turkey’s growing relations with Russia, with Erdogan frequently engaging in dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of efforts to mediate between Moscow and Ukraine.

Speaking at a public rally in Ankara, Erdogan expressed Turkey’s solidarity with Russia in the face of such senseless violence. “We strongly condemn this heinous terrorist attack targeting innocent civilians,” Erdogan affirmed, emphasizing that terrorism is intolerable regardless of its origins or perpetrators.

Asserting Turkey’s commitment to combatting terrorism as a common adversary of humanity, Erdogan pledged to stand alongside Russia in the fight against terror. “We share Russia’s pain,” he stated, underscoring Turkey’s determination to continue the battle against terrorism.

In response to the attack, Russia announced the arrest of 11 persons, including four gunmen allegedly involved in the assault on the Crocus City Hall. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, further heightening concerns about the global threat posed by terrorism.
