Erdogan, Japarov Discuss Bilateral Ties

ISTANBUL: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has discussed bilateral ties and cooperation with Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov, local media reported on Monday.

Türkiye’s Communications Directorate said that the two sides held telephonic conversation.  It added that during the phone talks, President Erdogan and Japarov discussed various matters, including bilateral ties and cooperation. The two leaders also held talks on global and regional issues during the telephonic talks.

President Erdogan thanked Japarov for congratulating Ankara on the successful conduct of local polls in the country on Sunday.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conceded that results from local elections had marked a turning point for his party but vowed to respect the decision of the people of Turkey.

Speaking to the crowd from the headquarters of his Justice and Development Party (AKP), the President said unfortunately, his party could not achieve the results that it wished.
