ISTANBUL: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Friday said Turkey was prepared to mediate between Russia and Ukraine.

“We are ready to host a peace summit where Russia is also present,” Erdogan said while addressing a press conference here alongside Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Erdogan’s statement came after his talks with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy. He said Ankara supports Kyiv’s territorial integrity.

He said he had discussed developments concerning the war in detail, as well as navigational security in the Black Sea, including the defunct grain deal. He also vowed that Turkey would strongly contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine once the war ends.
