ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned the Western countries supporting the Israeli regime in its war crimes against Palestinians, urging them to reconsider their stance and align with international law, human rights, conscience, and morality.

Speaking to reporters upon his return from Algeria, Erdogan emphasized the need for nations to distance themselves from what he termed as “crimes” committed by Israel.

“Before it is too late, the governments of the countries that have sided with Israel should move to the side of international law, conscience, human rights, and morality, and refrain from participating in these war crimes. We need to side with those oppressed and save them from the steps that oppressors are taking,” Erdogan stated.

Erdogan Highlights Growing Discontent of Western Public

The Turkish leader expressed concern about the Western public being on what he referred to as the “wrong side of history” and asserted that the current situation differs from previous conflicts. He highlighted the growing discontent among the public, stating, “This time, it is different.”

“As you know, the governments of these countries preferred to stand aside, but their people are now saying: ‘Enough of these atrocities.’ The politicians who are deaf to this voice will soon get a democratic response from their own people,” Erdogan warned.

Erdogan emphasized the importance of viewing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from a human perspective, advocating for a unified approach that disregards distinctions based on religion or ethnicity. The conflict, triggered by the Israeli regime’s response to an operation by the Gaza Strip’s Resistance groups on October 7, has resulted in a significant toll, with more than 14,000 innocent Palestinians killed in the ongoing Israeli war.
