ISLAMABAD: Ethiopia Ambassador to Pakistan Jemal Beker Abdula has hosted an Iftar banquet attended by parliamentarians, government officials, diplomats, ambassadors, members of the Ethiopian Diaspora, and various prominent figures from Pakistan’s civil society and media.
Distinguished guests, including Senator Mushahid Hussain, Senior Parliamentarian Romina Khursheed Alam, Africa-Pakistan Association President Zafar Bakhtawari, High Commissioner of Mauritius in Pakistan Rashidally Soobadar, and COMSATS Executive Director Nafees Zakaria, were among those who graced the occasion.
Ambassador Abdula warmly welcomed the guests to his residence in Islamabad and extended his congratulations to Muslims in Ethiopia, Pakistan, and worldwide on the auspicious month of Ramadan, a time of blessings for all.
He praised Pakistan’s generous spirit, highlighting its culture of sharing and compassion. The Ambassador also touched upon Ethiopia’s rich diversity in language, social structure, religion, and culture, noting the grand street Iftar events in Addis Ababa that add vibrancy to Ramadan.
Further, he emphasized the shared values and historical ties between Ethiopia and Pakistan, both being inheritors of ancient civilizations and champions of peace, justice, equality, and democracy.
Expressing gratitude to the attendees, Ambassador Abdula emphasized the significance of such gatherings in enhancing the already thriving bilateral relations between the two nations.
