SRINAGAR: Former Chief Minister and President of the National Conference Farooq Abdullah has expressed deep concern over the plight of people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) under the rule of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speaking at a joint meeting of Congress and National Conference members from the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, Abdullah highlighted the widespread resentment against the BJP and its leaders due to the severe tyranny and oppression faced by the Kashmiri people.

Abdullah emphasized the importance of solidarity in defeating the BJP, stating that the party is attempting to silence legitimate voices by fostering divisions based on religion, region, and language. He underscored the need for unified action against the BJP’s attempts to suppress dissent and undermine democratic institutions.

Criticizing the BJP’s failures in addressing issues such as unemployment, social disparity, and abuse of power, Abdullah said that the people of IIOJK are disillusioned with the ruling party and eager to hold them accountable in the upcoming elections.

He expressed confidence that the electorate would reject the BJP’s falsehoods and efforts to erode their unique identity, signaling a desire for change and justice.
