PESHAWAR: The Surveillance Squad of the Intelligence Bureau successfully foiled a drug smuggling operation destined for Punjab and apprehended a drug trafficker on Wednesday.
The department spokesperson shared the details during a media briefing. According to the details, the Excise Police prevented smuggling large quantities of drugs to Punjab.
Police halted a vehicle with the license plate SGS 112 at Jameel Chowk Ring Road. Upon conducting a thorough search, law enforcement recovered 18,000 grams (18 kg) of hashish from the confiscated vehicle.
A case has been formally registered at the Excise Police Station in the Peshawar Region, initiating further probe into the incident, as confirmed by the Excise spokesperson. —APP
