Fact Check: Biden Should ‘Work with’ Putin

WASHINGTON: Texas Governor Greg Abbott did not say in an interview that US President Joe Biden must learn to work with Russian President Vladimir Putin as suggested in an altered video circulating on social media with that audio added. The altered video of Biden surfaced on different social media platforms, Reuters reported.

The portion of clip is altered, however, and nowhere in the original clip does Abbott say that President Biden should learn to work with President Putin. A spokesperson for the television said that the audio was changed and not part of the interview.

Reuters reported that Abbott alleges Biden’s policies for the increase in immigrants at the border, but he does not mention President Putin.  Reuters cited Haley Crow, Assistant Press Secretary at Abbott’s Office as saying that Abbott’s interview makes no mention of Russian President. Some section of media claimed that the clip circulating on social media is altered.
