WASHINGTON: A fake screenshot that seems like a social media post by former US President Donald Trump claiming that he once sparred with legendary boxer Muhammad Ali is circulating on social media.

The screenshot, which surfaced on social media seems to be a Truth Social post published under Trump’s official handle (@realDonaldTrump) and mentions to Cassius Clay, former name of Muhammad Ali. According to the social media post: “The great Cassius Clay used to spar with me.”

Trump’s Social Media Post About Muhammad Ali

However, it was not an actual post from Trump’s Social media account. Had Trump made any sort of claim regarding sparring with Muhammad Ali, the social media post would have been widely reported on by many prominent news outlets.

There is no relevant recent post or content on Trump’s Truth Social account or in archives of his account saved on January 17, when the image began circulating widely on different platform of social media.

The social media post does not appear on Trump’s official website or on Trump spokesperson Liz Harrington’s social media account, which often posts Trump’s official remarks and statements.
