LAHORE: Pictures circulating on different platforms of social media purportedly show a statement attributed to New Zealand cricketer Mark Chapman, mocking Pakistani players for training in in Kakul.

However, the claim is completely false and Chapman made no such remarks about Pakistan cricket team.  On April 21, a social media user claimed that Mark Chapman has taunted Pakistan’s cricket team while speaking at a post-match ceremony, saying, “We didn’t do any military level training… we just finished our school examinations and now came here to play on our summer pause.” The social media post has been viewed more than 30,000 times and liked more than 1,200 times, to date.

However, New Zealand cricketer, Mark Chapman did not make such statement in the media, while the New Zealand team was on visit in Pakistan from April 14- 27.

Chapman, who was named the Man of the Match that day, spoke for more than a minute but he did not make the remarks attributed to him on social media, regarding the Pakistan cricket team.
