Fact Check: Musk Video Casting Doubt on Moon landing

WASHINGTON: A video appearing to show Telsa boss Elon Musk casting doubt on NASA’s 1969 moon landing is changed. The audio and visuals were edited from an original video uploaded to social media, where he was speaking regarding his bid to understand the universe.

The footage appears as Telsa CEO wearing a black T-shirt and green jacket, adding that he has “some doubts regarding the authenticity of the lunar mission claimed by NASA back in the year 1969.”

He said that it is hard to believe that they could have accomplished such an achievement with the technology available at that era. The altered video clip surfaced on different platforms of social media.

According to Reuters, the video is altered from a social media uploaded in 2023 of Musk in discussion with Edison International president Pedro Pizarro at a meeting.

In the original clip, Musk is heard discussing his efforts to expand the scope and scale of consciousness such that we are in position to better understand our place in the universe. However, Musk’s audio and visuals were edited from a social media video uploaded in June 2023 and the video was alerted.
