ISLAMABAD: Following intense rainfall in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Wednesday, the streets turned white, creating an illusion of snowfall in the twin cities.

Pictures and videos capturing the unusual scene flooded social media, with users sharing the surreal images of parks, streets, and roads blanketed in white. Some even remarked that it appeared as if snow had fallen in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Similar scenes unfolded in the federal capital, Islamabad, on Wednesday, prompting citizens to speculate about the onset of snow in the city. The unexpected weather phenomenon left residents both surprised and intrigued as they witnessed the streets and landscapes transformed into what seemed like a snowy landscape.

Contrary to speculations, Sahibzada Khan, the Director General of the Meteorological Department, dismissed the possibility of snowfall in Islamabad. He explained that the current temperature in the capital city ranges between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, emphasizing that snowfall typically occurs when temperatures drop to zero or below zero degrees Celsius.
