ISLAMABAD: In recent social media posts, a claim has circulated, suggesting that the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in Pakistan has altered the process for obtaining a child registration certificate, commonly known as the B-Form.

According to the false narrative, parents would only be issued a B-Form for children under the age of seven starting in January 2024.

Claim Debunked:

The claim has been debunked as false by NADRA officials. In a statement provided from NADRA spokesperson Rida Qazi refuted the rumors, stating that no changes have been made to the process of obtaining a child registration certificate, and there is no plan to implement such alterations. The claims circulating online were deemed misleading and contrary to the facts by the official statement.

Official Confirmation:

NADRA took to its official social media accounts to further address and refute the claims, emphasizing that there is no deadline set for obtaining B-Forms. To acquire a B-Form, parents must submit updated national identity card copies, and one parent must be present at the office to apply for the certificate.

This fact check aims to clarify and dispel the misinformation circulating on social media regarding changes to the child registration certificate process in Pakistan. Parents are urged to rely on official statements from NADRA for accurate information regarding such matters.
