ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) will begin new residential projects in eight major cities across the country in the near future to provide housing for government employees and the general public.

According to FGEHA sources, the authority has already received a number of applications from landowners, companies, and firms interested in megaprojects. They stated that applications were invited from land owners, developers, firms, and qualified individuals for the supply of land for housing schemes (plots, apartments and houses) projects in the country’s major cities.

They also stated that the application and selection process was carried out in accordance with the Joint Venture Regulations 2020. According to them, the authority intends to launch new residential projects in eight major cities across the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, and Karachi are among the other cities. They also stated that new housing projects for federal government employees and the general public will be launched through a joint venture.

FGEHA projects

In response to a question, they stated that the pace of various development projects being carried out under the FGEHA had been significantly accelerated in order to provide modern residential facilities to employees in the shortest possible time. They also stated that the Chaklala Scheme has 3,432 apartments, while the Skyline Apartments have 3,945 units.

They claimed that Maulana Abdul Wasay, minister for Housing and Works was also taking a “keen interest in providing housing facilities to the employees,” and that he had directed the officials in charge to expedite the ongoing FGEHA projects, such as Kashmir Avenue Apartments, G-13 Chaklala Heights, and Skyline Apartments. According to the sources, the minister directed the site’s staff to ensure “quality and timely completion,” and that construction on both schemes was proceeding at a rapid pace. — APP
