Filipino Conjoined Twins Arrive in Riyadh for Separation Procedure

RIYADH: Filipino Siamese twins Akhizah and Ayeesha Yosoph have arrived in Saudi Arabia for a protentional separation procedure, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

Accompanied by the parents the twins were promptly shifted to the King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital (KASCH) under the Ministry of National Guard soon after they arrived at King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh.

A team of medical experts at KASCH is assessing the condition of the twins to determine the feasibility of performing a separation surgery.

This initiative was taken upon the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

According to the SPA the Advisor at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), and head of the medical team overseeing the case, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their support.

He praised their unwavering support and care for the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program and humanitarian endeavors at large.

Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted the program’s significance on an international scale, serving as a milestone with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance the Kingdom’s healthcare services to an important position.

The parents of the conjoined twins expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for the generous hospitality and warm welcome extended to them since they arrived in Saudi Arabia.

They prayed for Allah’s protection and best rewards over the Saudi leadership, and the everlasting security and safety across Saudi Arabia.
