RIYADH: The Saudi Polo Federation announced on Thursday that the first-ever women’s polo competition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) will be held in Nov at Al-Ittihad Academy Stadiums at the Nofa Equestrian Club Resort, near Riyadh.
A Saudi women’s polo team will also take part in the tournament, Arab media reported. Saudi Polo federation and Al-Hawafir Sports Company, the event’s official partner, are also working with leading stables in Saudi capital, Dammam and Jeddah to support the Saudi players prepare for the event.

Fashion shows featuring designers from the participating countries will take place on the sidelines of the tournament, organizers said. Omar Zaidan, the head of the federation, added it was working in order to further promote women’s sports and also raise awareness of polo as per line with the Saudi Polo Federation’s strategy and that of the Saudi Olympic Committee.
