RAWALPINDI: At least five terrorists were killed, and three others suffered injuries during two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Bajaur and Gawadar, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
A soldier also embraced martyrdom during crossfire with the terrorists in Bajaur.
However, one soldier was martyred and 4 terrorists were killed while another was captured after a gun battle in the general zone of Charmang of Bajaur district.
According to details made available, the statement stated the security forces conducted an IBO in Charmang on the reported presence of terrorists.
During the operation in search of the terrorists, the security personnel came under intense fire from the militants.
At the end of the operation, four terrorists were neutralised while one was caught alive.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives including a suicide vest were also found by the terrorists.
The ISPR said that the martyred soldier was actually recognized as Sepoy Muhammad Shoaib, 24.
It further said that the cleansing of the affected range is being carried out to remove any terrorists found in the surroundings. “Armed forces of Pakistan persistently resolute to eliminate the threat of violent from Pakistan,” it added.
In another IBO in Gwadar, a terrorist was killed and three others were injured, the ISPR said.
The security forces conducted Intelligence Based Operation in Gwadar district and militants after sensing the presence of security personnel opened indiscriminate firing. In the crossfire one militant was shot down and three were captured.
The cleansing of the area is being carried out to eliminate any remaining terrorists found in the area.
On Friday last, the security forces killed two terrorists during an IBO in Balochistan’s Kech district. An injured terrorist was also taken into custody during the operation.
