Former Finance Minister Advocates Strong China-Pakistan Partnership

BEIJING: Pakistan’s former Finance Minister Salman Shah emphasized the significance of Pakistan’s friendship with China and its role as a partner in the Belt and Road Initiative through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
In an interview with China Media Group Urdu Service, Shah stressed the mutual benefits of bolstering ties between China and Pakistan, highlighting the potential for increased investment, exports, tourism, and connectivity between the two countries.

He also underscored China’s extensive cooperation with other countries, particularly Pakistan, in embracing digitalization, artificial intelligence, and the emerging virtual economy.

Emphasizing China’s position as the world’s largest market, Shah predicted rapid growth driven by rising per capita income, presenting attractive opportunities for investors.

Praising China’s strategic initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative, which fosters connectivity between China, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Shah commended China’s role in global economic development.

Shah highlighted China’s leadership in various new fields and encouraged the world to learn from China’s economic model.
Refuting Western criticism of China’s economic overcapacity, Shah emphasized China’s vast development potential and urged investors to tap into the growing Chinese market across various sectors.

Expressing gratitude for China’s cooperation with Pakistan, Shah anticipated a mutually beneficial partnership in the years ahead.
