SHANGHAI: Tang Xiaoou, the founder of SenseTime Group one of China’s major artificial intelligence (AI) companies has died, the firm announced on Saturday.
According to media reports, Tang, a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, initiated the software development company, which has grown strongly with private and public demand for its latest facial recognition technology.
In a statement, SenseTime announced that Tang died of an unspecified illness and also did not list about his age.
In a statement via social media, the company said that at this sad time, they expressed its deepest condolences to the family of Professor Tang.

The firm further maintained that Professor Tang’s passion, wisdom, and endless exploration of science will always inspire them to stay true to their original aspirations and forge ahead. People from different walks of life also expressed condolences to the family of Professor Tang.
