GE- 2024: ECP Issues Guidelines for Filing Nomination Papers

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has released comprehensive guidelines for candidates intending to participate in the upcoming elections. The guidelines outline essential instructions and requirements to ensure a systematic and transparent nomination process.

The key details include candidates vying for National Assembly seats are required to pay Rs. 30,000, while Provincial Assembly candidates will pay Rs. 20,000. The submission time for nomination papers is from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm from December 20-22.

Documentary requirements for filing the papers include several attested documents, including copies of the proposer and endorser’s identity cards, attested voter certificates, income tax returns for the past three years, and an attested copy of the candidate’s passport.

The age limit for the candidates must be at least 25 years at the time of submitting their nomination papers.

Provincial representation For Provincial Assembly seats, should have candidates must be belonging to the respective province.

Candidates need to provide bank transaction records up to December 8, 2023.

Affidavit submission is mandatory for candidates to submit an affidavit along with the nomination papers.

Candidates must disclose details of assets, including those of dependents and family members.

Nomination paper submission window is from December 20th to December 22nd and maximum nomination papers is five for one fee in any of the constituency.

A candidate is allowed to submit a maximum of five nomination papers for one fee in any one constituency.

These guidelines aim to streamline the nomination process, ensuring candidates meet necessary criteria and submit required documentation promptly.

The Election Commission emphasizes transparency and adherence to stipulated rules to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
