Gold Flying High, Price Increases by Rs.2500 to Rs. 217,000 Per Tola

ISLAMABAD: After last day surge of over Rs 4000, the per tola price of 24 karats of gold witnessed another increase by Rs 2500 on Wednesday and was sold in the domestic market at Rs 217,000 against its sale at Rs. 214,500 on Tuesday; all Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.

The price of the 10 grams of 24 karats of gold also witnessed an increase by Rs 2142 to Rs 186,042 from Rs 183,900, while the price of 10 grams of 22 karats of gold went up to Rs 170,539 from Rs 168,575.

The price of per tola and ten-gram silver remained unchanged to close at Rs 2450 and Rs 2100.48, respectively.

Gold Prices in International Market

Like the domestic market, the price of gold in the international market also went up and rose by US$ 41 to $2023 compared to its sale at $1982, the association reported. However, a rapid price increase in Pakistan happens for several reasons. It comprises the international market, the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the dollar, and the economic situation in the country.
