Gold price increases by Rs.500 to Rs. 233,600 Per Tola

ISLAMABAD: The per tola price of 24 karats of gold witnessed a slight increase by Rs 500 and was sold at Rs 233,600 compared to the last day sale at Rs. 233,100 as reported by All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association on Thursday.

The price of 10 grams of 24 karats of gold also went up Rs 428 to Rs 200,274 from Rs 199,846, while that of 10 grams of 22 karats of gold increased up to Rs 183,585 from Rs 183,192.

However, unlike gold, price of per tola silver went down Rs 50 to settle at Rs 2900 and that of ten-gram silver also decreased by Rs 42.86 to Rs 2486.28.

Gold Price in International Market

On contrary price of gold in the international market witnessed a decreased and went down by US$ 12 to $1976 compared to its sale at $1988, the association reported. The continues increase in the price of the precious metal in Pakistan is attributed to the ongoing financial and political unrest coupled with the deadlock with the IMF over the release of $1.1 billion being pending since last September.
