ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has increased the petrol price by Rs4.53 per litre for the next fortnight starting Tuesday.
After the latest increase, the new price of petrol reached Rs293.94 per litre, said a notification issued by the Finance Division on Monday.
The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs8.14 to Rs Rs290.38 per litre.
Explaining the reason behind the adjustments, the Finance Division in the notification said that the price of Petrol has seen an increasing trend in the international market during the last fortnight.
According to the notification the Oil and Gas Regulatory (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices, based on the price creations in the international market.
The new petroleum prices would come into effect from April 16.
