Govt Slashes Petrol Price by Rs. 5.45 Per Litre

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has slashed the petrol price by Rs 5.45 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by 8.42 per liter for the next fortnight starting Wednesday.

The finance ministry in a notification said the petroleum prices were reduced due to price variations in the international market.

It said the new petrol price is Rs 288.49 per litre and that of HSD is Rs 281.96 per liter.

The notification said the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices, based on the price variations in the international market.

Last fortnight, the government had increased the price of petrol and HSD by Rs 4.53 and Rs 8.14 per litre.

The new petroleum prices would come into effect from May 1.
