Govt Wants to Develop Country on Digital Lines, Says Shamshad

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has said the government wants to develop the country on digital lines by fostering collaborations through digital framework.

Speaking at the  ‘Pakistan Digital Stack’ workshop in Islamabad on Thursday, she highlighted the significance of digital payments in empowering ordinary citizens and entrepreneurs, enabling them to conduct financial transactions efficiently and conveniently.

Dr. Shamshad Akhtar emphasized the government’s dedication to achieving financial inclusion, gender empowerment, poverty reduction, and increased transparency in governance. She underscored the immense potential of the Digital Stack, emphasizing its role in facilitating millions of Pakistanis in their day-to-day transactions.

Stressing the importance of the project for Pakistan’s development, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar assured that all necessary resources would be allocated to ensure the success of the Digital Stack initiative. Furthermore, she commended the initiatives undertaken by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Karandaz in the creation and implementation of the digital stack in Pakistan.
