Govt’s Strategy Succeeds in Controlling Dollar Rate: KP Minister

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Minister for Food, Livestock, and Environment, Asif Rafiq said the government’s best policy has kept the dollar rate under control, while petroleum product prices have also been reduced.

According to an official handout issued here on Wednesday, he conveyed these views while presiding over a meeting here in the Food Department. The meeting was also attended by Secretary Food Zarif Almani and District Food Controllers from across the province.

According to the provincial minister, initiatives are being taken to pass the positive effects of these achievements to the wider population. He said the government refused to compromise on the provision of high-quality edibles and had zero tolerance for hoarding and forged price increases.

He urged the District Food Controllers to improve their performance and asked that the relevant authorities address the obstacles and problems they were experiencing.

He also commanded that the process of reward and punishment be accelerated in order to improve the delivery of services to the people. He said the goal of their efforts is to provide the people with high-quality edibles at reasonable prices.

Concerning the District Price Review Committee, the provincial minister issued directions to adapt people-friendly and uniform procedures throughout the province. He said the majority of pricing review meetings are delayed, which has a direct impact on the people.
