DUBAI: Adverse weather in the United Arab Emirates led to flight disruptions at Dubai’s primary airport, a spokesman for operator Dubai Airports said on Friday.
The spokesperson further said that as of 10 am UAE time (0600 GMT), 13 inbound flights were redirected to nearby airports, and six outbound flights were cancelled at Dubai International (DXB).
The spokesperson, in an emailed communication, stated, “Dubai Airports is working closely with airlines, control authorities, and other service partners at DXB to minimize any inconvenience to our customers.” DXB stands as one of the world’s busiest airports and a crucial global transit hub.
The emirate experienced significant travel disruptions due to heavy rain early on Friday. Despite the adverse weather, the Dubai Airshow, a prominent industry event occurring this week, was set to proceed as scheduled on its final day.
