ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has introduced the ‘Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program’ for the upcoming academic year 2024-25.
This programme is designed to enable students from Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, and PhD programs at various esteemed Hungarian universities.
To be eligible for bachelor’s and one-tier master’s degrees, applicants need a minimum of 12 years of education, while those applying for master’s programmes must have completed 16 years of education. The selection process will include exams scheduled for January and February 2024 to identify deserving candidates.
The scholarships provided will cover tuition fees and extend financial assistance to students for accommodation and health-related expenses. Interested applicants must submit their applications before the August 1, 2024 deadline. An essential requirement is the mandatory submission of online applications on both the Hungarian website and the HEC website. Neglecting to complete this crucial step will result in applications not being considered for further processing.
During the initial stage, hard copies of applications and supporting documents are not needed. However, applicants must keep a record of all submitted documents, including printed copies of both application forms submitted online at the HEC website and the Hungarian website. In later stages of the selection process, applicants will be required to submit hard copies, including attested photocopies of original documents. Additionally, original medical and police clearance certificates must be submitted at subsequent stages of the application process. This comprehensive approach ensures a thorough and efficient evaluation of candidates vying for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programm.
