High Time to Act Unitedly for Pakistan’s Progress: PM

TORGHAR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that it was the right time for the state institutions and the whole nation to work together to advance the country on the path of development.

He said it was the responsibility of the armed forces, people, government, and judiciary to act in unison to ensure the country’s development.

He expressed the views while addressing the local elders in Torghar after laying the foundation stone of the Torghar Bunir Highway, the Torghar-Bunir Reinforced Cement Concrete bridge, and the Bunir-Karakar Link Tunnel.

The prime minister in his address, highlighted the importance of hard work, unity, and dedication by the people to make Pakistan’s future brighter.

He said that Pakistan faced financial difficulties and the government tirelessly worked to reach at an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to avert default.

He lauded the help from Army Chief General Asim Munir in this regard.

He expressed optimism that Pakistan would soon take on an important role in the comity of countries.

PM Sharif said that the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is endowed with natural riches, and the government is well aware of the importance of pursuing development opportunities for the good of the populace in KP.

The prime minister also honored the sacrifices made by the residents’ ancestors who surrendered their lands for Pakistan’s creation 70 years ago.

PM criticises previous governments

He criticized the apathy of previous political leaders who failed to mainstream the region into achieving national growth.

He emphasized the importance of offering locals opportunities so they can succeed in their educational and professional endeavors.

He ordered that the bridge be finished in one year rather than the planned three years.

The premier said that the three infrastructure projects, totaling Rs 18 billion, would benefit the residents considerably.
