ISLAMABAD: In a recent YouTube Shorts video, Dr. Janine Bowring (@doctorjanine) has shared insightful guidance regarding the impact of laptops on our health.

She warns against using your laptop while it’s charging, emphasizing its potential damage on your overall well-being.

Electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure

Dr. Bowring highlights research findings indicating that a charging laptop emits elevated levels of electromagnetic fields (EMF). To simplify, think of this as the invisible energy radiated by your laptop. Using a charging laptop exposes you to more of this energy, which may have adverse effects on your cells.

Cellular health concerns

According to Dr. Bowring, increased EMF exposure from a charging laptop could negatively affect your cellular health. It might even lead to reduced energy levels and has been associated with serious health issues like cancer.

Protective measures

Dr. Bowring provides practical tips to mitigate EMF exposure. She recommends putting your devices on airplane mode whenever possible. Additionally, taking breaks from your screen and spending time outdoors in natural sunlight can help reset your body’s equilibrium.

Supplement recommendation

Dr. Bowring also advises considering a specific type of magnesium supplement known as ‘magnesium bisglycinate.’ This supplement may assist your cells in coping better with EMFs, essentially providing a shield against the laptop’s energy emissions.

Sitting too much is a problem too

Prolonged sitting while using your laptop can also be dangerous to your well-being. Fitness expert Dan Go warns that sitting for over 6 hours a day can result in poor posture, weight gain, and discomfort in your neck, shoulders, and back. Remember to take breaks and engage in muscle-stretching exercises.

In a nutshell, using your laptop while it’s charging might not be the wisest idea for your health. However, with some simple steps, like going outside and taking breaks, you can protect yourself from these potential risks. Stay safe and keep those laptops charged wisely!
