How Motorbikes Provide Health Services to People in Narrow Streets of Karachi?

ISLAMABAD: Sinch Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz on Friday announced the launch of state-of-art, ‘Motorbike Ambulance Services’ for the narrow streets of Sindh province, providing immediate medical assistance to the patients before shifting them to hospitals.

Speaking to a private news channel, he highlighted the significance of the ‘1122’ emergency motorbike service, equipped with portable oxygen cylinders and various medicines, as a beacon of hope for emergency healthcare.

Dr. Niaz disclosed that the WHO had provided 25 ambulance motorbikes to enhance existing facilities, targeting densely populated areas with narrow streets.

These motorcycle ambulances, made to international standards, aim to offer accessible healthcare in remote areas, navigating through small rivers, drains, and rugged terrain.

In response to a query, he stated that the provincial government was making a lot of effort to offer people improved healthcare services right at their doorstep.

He said that there is a successful pilot project with 25 life-saving ambulances operating in the districts of Thatta and Sujawal. —APP
