ICC Reveals ‘Out of World’ Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Campaign Film as 100-day Countdown Begins

DUBAI: The 100 days left until the eagerly awaited event kicks off from 1 June to 29 June, the remaining tickets for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and USA are now open for general sale, a statement of the ICC said.

Following an unprecedented demand for the ballot tickets launched on 1 February, general tickets for the event will be accessible from today, 10 AM Antigua Standard Time, on the T20 World Cup website. Throughout the ballot period, the ICC received over 3 million ticket applications from 161 countries. Currently, tickets are unavailable for all T20 World Cup matches scheduled in the USA, with the India v Pakistan fixture on 9 June in New York oversubscribed by more than 200 times.

Although both semi-finals in Trinidad and Tobago, and Guyana, along with the Final in Barbados, were oversubscribed in the ballot, tickets to all other fixtures in the West Indies are now available for purchase in the general sale.

On the occasion of the launch of the general sale and the official film release, Geoff Allardice, the Chief Executive of the ICC, remarked, “As we approach the commencement of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in just 100 days, there’s an immense eagerness among fans to witness the largest ICC event ever, with 20 international teams competing across nine host cities.

“The unveiling of our official campaign film, which encapsulates the dynamism of T20 cricket and showcases some of the sport’s foremost stars, marks another significant milestone. Excitement is palpable within the global cricket community as anticipation mounts for this historic event.”

Johnny Grave, the Chief Executive of Cricket West Indies, also expressed his happiness at the overwhelming demand for tickets: “With only 100 days left until the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup kicks off, the global excitement is reaching unprecedented levels, indicating that this World Cup is poised to create history in multiple aspects. The fact that a substantial number of matches are already oversubscribed underscores the exponential growth of T20 cricket’s global appeal.”
