ISLAMABAD: The official kit of the Pakistan Cricket Team for the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup 2024 was revealed in an unveiling ceremony by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held in Lahore on Monday.
Pakistan’s Skipper Babar Azam along with senior players including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan and others posed with the new jersey named “Matrix Jersey”.
Later the PCB also shared a video on its X handle (formerly Twitter) where Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Naseem Shah and others could be seen doing drills and at the end, all of them were wearing the new jersey being designed for the upcoming ICC event that begins in West Indies and USA from June 1.
ICC T20I World Cup
Pakistan has been placed in Group A of the World Cup with arch-rival India, Ireland, Canada and co-hosts United States.
The Green Shirts would leave for Ireland on Tuesday for a T20I series against the home side before the mega event.
Pakistan would play three T20Is in Ireland, followed by four Two in England. After the England series, the team would leave for the United States to participate in the mega event.
The 18-player squad, announced last week, for Ireland and England T20Is, would be reduced to 15 players for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after the first T20I contest against England on May 22.
In the ICC T20 World Cup, 20 qualifying teams are divided into four groups of five, from which the top two teams of every single group would contest to make their place in the Super 8 round. Agsin the Super 8 group has been divided into two groups of four, from which the top two teams will make their way to the semi-final followed by the grand final on June 29.
