ISLAMABAD: As part of its campaign of leveling baseless allegations against Pakistan, India had recently accused Pakistan of being behind the death sentence handed down to eight Indian nationals in Qatar. The Indian government’s baseless allegations, however, have been met with skepticism and humiliation both internationally and within India.

India’s credibility was already in question following the killing of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar by RAW in Canada and accusations of Indian Navy personnel engaging in espionage for Israel in Qatar. These incidents have raised serious concerns about India’s involvement in self-serving illegal and human rights violations activities, directly challenging the sovereignty of friendly nations and ruining its image on the global stage. These incidents have unmasked the real face of India in the global community, causing global humiliation for the Modi-led Indian government.

To divert global attention from international criticism, India has resorted to blaming Pakistan and its military leadership for the death sentence to Indian nationals in Qatar. However, these allegations have been labeled as baseless insinuations by critics, revealing what they perceive as the Indian government’s attempt to divert attention and survive in the face of mounting scrutiny due to its shameful activities. The Indian baseless insinuations against Pakistan reveal the shallowness of the Indian government for which anti-Pakistan rhetoric has become a way to survive.

Furthermore, India’s alignment with Israel, the real perpetrator, during the recent humanitarian crisis has strained its bilateral relations with Qatar, one of its closest allies in the region. Qatar has been a significant partner for India, being its fourth-largest export destination and a major supplier of natural gas, fulfilling around 70% of India’s needs.

Indian Attempts to Divert Attention from Internal Challenges

International and national media outlets have been quick to pick up on the Indian conundrum. Headlines like “A Death Sentence in Qatar Tests India’s Carefully Constructed Mideast Ties” from The Wall Street Journal and “By Siding With Israel, India Is Jettisoning Decades of Middle East Statesmanship” from The Wire highlight the complexity of India’s current diplomatic challenges.

Critics argue that these baseless allegations against Pakistan not only lack substantial evidence but also reveal the Indian government’s foolish political strategies. They perceive India as an unreliable ally, and there are growing calls within the international community to reevaluate their policies toward India, given its recent actions and rhetoric.

Additionally, some analysts have pointed out the Indian government’s tendency to conflate internal issues, such as the anti-Muslim climate in India, particularly in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir region, with international conflicts, such as the situation in Gaza. This, they argue, is a strategic move by the ruling BJP party to divert attention from domestic challenges and human rights violations. Modi government is creating a rampant anti-Muslim climate in India, especially in IIOJK, with the portrayal of the latest conflict in Gaza as Hamas’ handiwork.

The Indian baseless allegations against Pakistan are nothing but the Modi government’s imprudent political gimmick. According to analysts, India has proved itself to be a highly unreliable ally, adding that it is the right time for the international community to revisit its policies toward India.

Indian state-sponsored propaganda machinery has been spreading disinformation, especially against Pakistan, even at the cost of making itself a laughing stock.
