TEHRAN: In a video message marking the 45th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian underscored the imperative of prioritizing multilateralism and reforming the structure of the United Nations (UN) and its Security Council.

Amir-Abdollahian lamented the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, emphasizing that the atrocities committed by the Zionists underscore the ineffectiveness of the UN, particularly the Security Council, in fulfilling its responsibilities.

He pointedly criticized the emphasis on unilateralism by certain entities, attributing it to the exacerbation of numerous crises and the proliferation of conflict and insecurity worldwide.

Expressing satisfaction over Iran’s progress in various spheres since the Islamic Revolution, the Foreign Minister highlighted advancements in science, industry, technology, and medicine. He credited the empowerment of women and youth as pivotal contributors to Iran’s achievements over the years.

Amir-Abdollahian reiterated the current Iranian administration’s commitment to fostering constructive engagement with all nations, with a particular focus on bolstering cooperation with neighboring countries.

As Iran commemorates the milestone of its Islamic Revolution, Amir-Abdollahian’s message underscores the nation’s resolve to champion multilateralism and advocate for substantive reforms within international institutions to address pressing global challenges.
