LAHORE: Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi underscored the profound historical, religious, cultural, and civilizational bonds between Pakistan and Iran during his visit to Lahore on Tuesday. He said that both nations were a strong desire to foster centers of arts, learning, and the advancement of sciences.
Addressing students and faculty at the esteemed Government College University (GCU), President Raisi emphasized the imperative of prioritizing arts, sciences, and technology to excel globally. He highlighted the pivotal role of universities as hubs of knowledge and innovation, stressing the need for a comprehensive educational strategy to yield substantial benefits.

Regarding Allama Iqbal, President Raisi acknowledged the revered status of the East’s poet, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, in Iran, emphasizing the widespread admiration for his poetry.

Additionally, President Raisi reaffirmed Iran and Pakistan’s unified stance on the Palestine issue and pledged to bolster cooperation with Pakistan, particularly in the energy sector.
Expressing gratitude, President Raisi extended appreciation to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for their warm hospitality during his visit.
