IRSA Releases Water from Indus River System

ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) announced on Tuesday the release of 175,700 cusecs of water from various rim stations, with an inflow of 332,300 cusecs.

According to data released by IRSA, the water level in the River Indus at Tarbela Dam stood at 1457.55 feet, marking a 43.55 feet increase from its dead level of 1,398 feet. The dam recorded an inflow of 51,800 cusecs and an outflow of 5,000 cusecs.

At Mangla Dam, the water level in the River Jhelum was recorded at 1153.70 feet, which was 103.70 feet above its dead level of 1,050 feet. The dam registered an inflow of 127,800 cusecs and an outflow of 18,000 cusecs.

The release of water from Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu, and Sukkur was reported as 104,700 cusecs, 52,100 cusecs, 54,100 cusecs, and 25,800 cusecs, respectively. Additionally, a total of 120,900 cusecs of water was released from River Kabul at Nowshera, and 23,300 cusecs from River Chenab at Marala.

This release of water comes amidst efforts to manage water levels and ensure the effective utilization of water resources across the region.
