ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police on Wednesday introduced new safety regulations to protect and ensure the safety of inter-district travelers.

Following a recent accident on a highway that left about 18 people unidentifiable, the SSP CTD, along with the Chief Traffic Officer and Zonal DPOs, will ensure the implementation of these recommendations to protect travelers.

The administrators of each bus station will be asked for specific information on the passengers and their destinations as part of these efforts. A thorough daily log of passenger data will be kept to ensure effective traveler tracking and management.

According to new rules, there will be stricter enforcement of the parking rules at bus stops, assuring everyone’s safety and order. To facilitate elderly passengers’ boarding and disembarking, specific locations within bus stops will be allocated. The Hotel Eye technology will centrally capture and manage all passenger data, boosting overall security and safety.

The Safe City surveillance system will be used at bus stops to monitor and manage traffic arrangements properly. “These guidelines represent the Islamabad Police’s dedication to protecting travelers’ well-being, ultimately aiming to reduce risks associated with inter-district travel and ensuring a safer travel experience for all,” a police spokeswoman stated. —APP
