RAWALPINDI: In response to the unfortunate incident in Bahawalnagar, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has issued a statement addressing the situation and announcing decisive measures to uphold accountability and transparency.

ISPR said, “an unfortunate incident occurred in Bahawalnagar recently, which was promptly addressed and resolved through collaborative efforts of military and police authorities.”

Despite the prompt resolution of the situation by authorities, certain factions with vested interests have taken to social media to propagate misinformation and instigate division. The military media wing stated that the unfortunate incident has now become the subject of vitriolic propaganda on social media platforms, aimed at sowing discord between state institutions and government departments. “Certain factions with vested motives started fanning vitriolic propaganda on social media to create divisions between state institutions and government departments,” ISPR stated.

To ensure a fair and thorough investigation into the matter, and to ascertain responsibility for any violations of laws and misuse of authority, the ISPR has announced the formation of a joint inquiry comprising security and police officials.

“To ensure a fair and deliberate inquiry, and to determine responsibility for violation of laws and misuse of authority, a joint inquiry comprising security and police officials will be conducted for ascertaining the facts and apportioning responsibility,” ISPR stated.
