Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon Kill 8 Hezbollah, Amal Fighters

BEIRUT: On Saturday, eight members of Hezbollah and the Amal movement were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon.

A civil defense paramedic was also shot in the head by Israeli forces a few days ago and died from his injuries.

A Burkan rocket fired by Hezbollah hit an Israeli military base in the Western Galilee region.

Israeli army surveillance planes flew over the villages of the western and central regions from Friday night to Saturday and reached the outskirts of the city of Tyre.

Israeli forces also fired flash bombs at border villages adjacent to the Blue Line in the west and center.

At dawn, Israeli forces fired from their positions towards the outskirts of Ramyah and Aita Al-Shaab settlements.

Saturday was marked by intense Israeli airstrikes against targets in southern Lebanon.

The jets targeted an abandoned room in a courtyard near Beaufort Castle in the Nabatieh area, north of the Litani Line.

The town of Marjayoun was hit by Israeli airstrikes on Friday night, the first since the fighting began on October 8, targeting centers linked to the Amal movement, a Hezbollah ally.

Hezbollah, which is closely allied with the Palestinian organization Hamas, says its campaign is aimed at pressuring Israel to end the war in Gaza.

The town of Khiam was shelled heavily in the early hours of the morning.

Israeli fighter jets also attacked the houses of Tayr Harfa city, but there were no casualties.

Another airstrike targeted the town of Labbouneh on the outskirts of Naqoura.

Lebanese civil defense workers tried to retrieve the bodies of two victims from the rubble of a destroyed house in Mays Al-Jabal, which was the target of an Israeli airstrike, during Friday night.

Hezbollah said it targeted a group of Israeli soldiers near the Ramya military base.
