JERUSALEM: A Palestinian activist was killed on Friday evening during a clash with Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank, Arab media reported.

In a statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Health also confirmed the news and said that Mohammad Jibril Roummaneh passed away as a result of serious wounds caused by bullets fired by the occupying troops in El-Bireh, Ramallah. It added that another Palestinian was injured in the area. However, the health officials did not provide more details in this regard.
Violence in the West Bank has raged for the last several months, amid stepped-up Israeli army raids, and increased settler attacks on Palestinian villages.

More than 242 Palestinians and 32 Israelis have been killed since the beginning of the year in violence in the area.
