Israeli Forces Kill Two Palestinian Children in West Bank Raid Amid Truce Extension Talks

WEST BANK: Israeli forces conducted a raid in the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday and brutally killed two Palestinian children, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported. The victims were identified as 8-year-old Adam Samer al-Ghoul and 15-year-old Basil Suleiman Abu al-Wafa.

The Israeli army’s operation in the Jenin refugee camp included the forced evacuation of residents in the ad-Damj neighborhood at gunpoint, leading to widespread destruction. According to Palestinian news agency Wafa, the Israeli army utilized a drone to bomb a house during the raid.

In a joint statement to Israeli media, the Border Police, Israeli army, and Shin Bet security agency confirmed the killing of two Palestinian children. The statement acknowledged two additional deaths amid clashes in the area. A total of 17 Palestinian civilians were arrested during the operation.

CCTV footage circulating online captured the tragic incident, showing one boy being shot in the head and another in the chest by Israeli bullets. Witnesses described the raid as one of the largest in the Jenin refugee camp since October 7, prompting shock and condemnation.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that Israeli forces obstructed its medics from accessing the camp, despite the presence of injured individuals in need of assistance. The incident occurred amid ongoing talks to extend the truce between Israel and Hamas, highlighting the complexities and challenges in achieving a lasting ceasefire in the region.
