TEXAS: This summer, the much-anticipated match between YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul and former world champion Mike Tyson has received official sanctioning as a professional fight. Set to unfold in Texas on July 20, the bout will now etch its outcome onto both fighters’ records.

However, certain conditions have been set, including limiting the contest to eight two-minute rounds and mandating the use of 14oz gloves instead of the usual 10oz. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has meticulously evaluated the fighters’ records and medical histories before granting approval for this pro fight, albeit with “certain waivers” in place, prioritizing contestant safety above all else.

Despite Tyson’s age of 58 at the time of the fight and his last professional bout in 2005, he remains a formidable opponent, having recently engaged in an exhibition match in 2020. Paul, with a record of nine wins in ten fights, is also eager to make his mark in this sanctioned showdown. The venue for this anticipated clash is set at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, known for its capacity to host large-scale events, fitting for a spectacle of this magnitude.
